The International Tinnitus Journal was founded by Professor Abraham Shulman and Barbara Goldstein from New York and Professor Claus- Frenz Claussen from Bad Kissingen, Germany.It intended to publish papers on tinnitus from all over the world and also, being the Official Journal of the Neurootological and Equilibriometric Society, to publish papers on Neurootology.

    During these years from 1995 to 2010 the ITJ has become known world wide and has fulfilled it`s mission to publish peer reviewed papers on tinnitus and balance problems. It is indexed on Medline. Embase, Excerpta Medica and Chemical Abstracts.

    Drs. Shulman and Claussen have honored myself with the mision to continue the ITJ tradition as Chairman of the publication and I have accepted this chalenge gladly.

    From now on the International Tinnitus Journal will be published from Brasília, D.F., Brasil under my Chairmanship.

    The mission of the Journal will not change. We will strive to make the publication better allways and will be open to any suggestion coming from subscribers and colllaborators.

    We will keep peer reviewing all the submissions and making sure the standard will be kept under our chairmanship.

    Dr. Fayez Bahmad, our Chief Editor has been working very hard in all details of the printed and on line publication. In this way all previous articles published in the ITJ will be available on line for the subscribers. It will be possible to submit papers for publication also on line and it will be possible to subscribe to the journal and pay the for the subscrition also on line.

    We, my staff and I, look forward to work with you in the production of a modern,open to change and rigorously controlled for quality Journal. The focus will be on Tinnitus and balance problems but good articles on Otology will be accepted as well.

    We believe the ITJ is different from other publications. It has been more open and willing to accept new ideas and we intend to continue in this direction.

    Being so we think we will find a niche for the ITJ in our modern Otolaryngological literature. We are of course very proud to have an International Journal published from Brasília.
